The general idea of a bar hopping to move around different bars in a night out. It can be either organized or disorganized. The disorganized ones are really simple. All you need is a group of friends to meet at a bar, have some drinks, and decide spontaneously when to leave, and where to go next. Theoretically, as long as you are not too drunk, you can keep the hopping going until every bar is closed. 

 

For the organized ones, the idea is quite similar, but the process is a bit different. So you will usually sign up for it prior to the event, and pay a registration fee. Then you meet your group at one bar, from which you will start. After spending a certain amount of time at one bar, your bar hopping guide will lead you to the next one. Usually there is a certain schedule to follow, and the event will end at a certain time. So the real difference here is really just the organization. 

 

How Many Pubs In A Pub Crawl?

The amount of bars involved can vary, but usually it has to be more than two bars. A pub crawl can start at around 9 or 10, and ends at 2 or 3. For this amount of time, 4 bars would be a reasonable amount of time. However, some bar crawls do include a club at the end. Since clubs are open till quite late hours, this means there will be times for more bars before reaching the club. 

 

It’s important to know that it’s not always the more the better, when it comes to the amount. Too many venues means that you can’t spend too much time in each, and that takes away some of the fun. So if you are planning on a pub crawl, you should select the amount of bars wisely.

 

Are Pub Crawls Worth It?

That’s a definite yes, especially for the organized ones! In general, its definitely more fun to experience multiple bars, then to sit at the same one all the time. For the organized ones, first of all you can have a bigger group. This is a great way to know people, because socializing is after all, why you are here. Also, it can be quite flexible in an organized pub crawl. You do have the right to choose either continue with the pub crawl group, or stay a certain bar.
